Consciousness

by Barbara Hilal

I am not conscious of being conscious

I can only be conscious of what I am conscious of

(like a flashlight in the dark pointing at a selected thing).

I only know I am when I am self-conscious.

Where is consciousness when I am asleep?

Consciousness is outside, too
