Pillow Talk

by Paul Kester

My Love some new pillows bought,
And threw away the old.

"And now sleep avoids me," says she,
"As rabbits shun the marigold."

"The reason's quite simple," say I,
"If the truth be told.

"More than twenty years of dreams
"The other pillows did behold.

"New dreams come only one night at a time
"To fit the new pillows' mold.

"But, my Love, sweet sleep is certain to return
"Before you grow too old."
