Autumn Leaves

volume 6 number 7

Who Am I, to Judge
by D P Thomas

To see those who are worried, forgotten and lost,
To see those who are disturbed, broken and sad,
To see those who are unhappy, with no where to turn,
Who am I, to judge,

Each day is a mountain, too high to climb,
Each start is more torment, to run and to hide,
Each breath is a struggle, too many to count,
Who am I, to judge,

To look into those eyes, filled with sorrow and grief,
To see pain and distress, of a level so high,
With the meaning of help, it's silence so loud,
Who am I, to judge,

A lifetime of anguish, of a struggle so hard,
To give in to the hardship, the fight all but gone,
I then look at myself, do I have what I want,
Who am I, to judge...
