Autumn Leaves

volume 6 number 7

Night Song
by Sondra Ball

All the world is soft and quiet.
Moonlight shimmers from the skies,
glows on snow this winter night—
and on your eyes.

Blue and pink and purple hues
touch the shadows of the ships
docked beneath the snowy pines—
and touch your lips.

Inside, shadows slowly gain,
as the fireplace embers rest,
on the frosted window panes
and on your breast.
