Long before the seasons were
Even before the Diné
walked the seasons
The Creator created the four directions of life
From
the East came the light
From the South came the warm lights of our Creator's
eyes
From the North came the cool breeze of our Creator's breath
From the
West came the twilight of our Creator's shadow
Our Mother came to be
From
the center of our four directions of life
From the life of our Mother came
all living things
As the Diné walked the four seasons
Caring for
their Mother
In order for her to produce the medicine of life
For all the
seasons the Diné walked
Caring for our Mother
And producing all
that was natural
What belongs to the Mother is given to the
Diné
As caretakers of the life producing Mother
Caring for our
Mother
Our womb of life
