A Prayer for Us

by Donna Wallace

I heard the crying
I smelt the dying
I saw the disaster
I felt the loss.
Now it's not over
It's only begun
We're now at war
Gone is our sun.
This war will last years
This war will cause tears
Many innocent lost
Will be the high cost.
And though I pray to God
And though most of us do
The dying will continue
Death will consume.
Say a prayer for our future
Say a prayer for our land
Our nation and our planet
Are in the wrong hands.
We must live by God's words
Let God be the judge
Allow God to work wonders
From His home far above.
I pray for the lost
I pray for the land
I pray for our future
Confident God's in command.
