Lightbearer
(for Paul)

by C.S. Snow

You can be all that you are,
or you can go beyond that

And be something more
than you've ever imagined before.

If you try to make sense
of your life
you will find

Things you've never seen...
Things you've never been.

There is a light
that picks up
where it left off before
and shines on in your eyes

If you're strong,
and you realize
that you are
The Lightbearer.

Carry the light.
Let it shine.

Shine on.
Shine strong.

Carry The Light.
Let it shine.

For if not you
then who
will carry The Light?

I can see it comin' down on you.
I can see your good intentions fell through.

You never know what's around that next corner,
and only The Strong survive.

But you keep travelin' on,
and you persevere.

Faith in the face
of all that's gone before.

Carry the light.
Let it shine.

Shine on.
Shine strong.

Carry The Light.
Let it shine.

For if not you
then who
will carry The Light?

All hail The Well Met Traveller,
He's been through hell,
and he's still standin'!

Trailblazer,
You lead the way.

Your light,
it shines on
and on and on.

Carry the light.
Let it shine.

Shine on.
Shine strong.

Carry The Light.
Let it shine.

For if not you
then who
will carry The Light?
