Still in My Heart

by Jessica Dawn Hubbard

Though the days are long and the nights are longer,
There's something still there I can't get rid of.
When god took you from me I wept every night,
But something in my heart said I've got to fight.
It's been so long since I've heard your voice,
Well I guess when death is mentioned, I really have no choice.
So I lay there and wish you were here with me,
If you're really up there of course you could see.
Sometimes when I dream I see me running to heaven,
Then I wake and always know that I was just dreaming.
And so as usual I let the average day start,
Because I'll always have your memory, in my heart
