A People's Calling

by Larry Kibby

Once again,
The people are drumming,
The people are singing
Sounds of the past,
Sounds of a culture,
Sounds of a tradition;
A calling
For a lost people!

Words of wisdom,
Words of knowledge,
Words of understanding;
They are words
Of a people
Calling
For their
Lost people.

Don't turn away.
Don't be shameful.
Don't hide.
Listen,
And listen well
For these are your
People
Calling
For their
Lost people.

They are telling
You
It is time to return;
Return to your culture;
Return to your tradition;
Return to your religion
And your way of life.
You are an Indian
And these are your people
Calling
For their
Lost People.
