Autumn Leaves

Haiku

by an'ya

high noon
the shadow of dancers
in a circle
from ...
dandelion to blowball
on gossamer wings
roadside ditch –
blossom by blossom taller
the aaron's-rod
the walkway
swept clean of yellow leaves –
whirlwind
high-desert heat
a day's anger subsides
with the sunset
snowy skyline –
suddenly in the foreground
a male cardinal
fleecy clouds
find a place to float
... lazy river
June bugs buzz
under the streetlamp
a goodnight kiss
tenting alone –
comforted by the chirp
of a house cricket
a sagebrush bush
shapeshifts in the haze –
Indian summer
