Sunlight

by Sondra Ball

Silver sunlight: splashing. lashing, laughing
into the landward arc of the wild waves
changing everything (sand, shore, sea lines);
laughing all day at silver waves splashing
into light laced beaches filled with white sand;
dreaming, sinking into the red waters,
of tomorrow's waves surging, dragging sand
under their silver, sun-specked arcs. Sunlight,
do you know it is you who makes the sea?
