Autumn Leaves

volume 3 number 5

Untitled

by Sarah Schmidt

What happens to a poem forgotten?
Do you crumble it up and throw it in the corner?
Do you just wait until it rots?
Does it run away from all the hard work?
Does it fly away into a midnight sky just to be free?
Does it burn up into a million pieces?
Does it go to the back of your mind awaiting to see what is next?
Does it lay there waiting to be used or
Does it just lay there waiting for something to happen?
What does it do?
