Reflections on an Autumn Day

by Robert McKay

Bare trees, warm gray sky,
Blowing chill wind full of leaves.
Patches of sun wander loose in the field
As jets cleave clouds with tearing exhaust.
Spikes of antennae rise from a rusted water tower,
As grass bends under the force
Of the wind out of winter.
