My World

by Ed Latham

In my world only good things happen
We don't have pain, never did

In my world all the trees grow tall
Animals play and never bite

In my world no one ever yells
if you happen to do something dumb

In my world it's o.k to laugh and cry
Nobody big ever screams "shut up !"

In my world we draw on the wall with crayons
We take off our clothes and run through the wood

We sing as loud as we want to
We make up our own songs

In my world nobody ever gets hit
By big people smelling like beer

We never get sent to our room without supper
Nobody slaps us or pulls our hair

My world is filled with colors so bright
The sun gets jealous and leaves every night

My world has everything I need
And I'm not coming out, ever

All you big people go away
I won't take your medicine
I don't wanna talk
Leave me alone

I don't need you
In my world
