I danced at Dusk
by the sea on sand.
I danced to the tune
of an ocean band.
I danced to the beat
of waves on sand,
to the calls of geese
as they flew to land.
I danced on the sand
while the bright sparks flew,
and the turning tide
wet the sand clear through.
The firm fast beat
of my black soled shoes
sent bright sparks flying,
glowing white and blue.
I danced and I sang
as the night came in.
The stars were bright,
and the moon was thin.
The grey tides turned;
and the cold night wind
danced through my hair
when the night was in.
I danced at dawn
by the sea on sand.
I danced to the tune
of an ocean band.
I danced to the beat
of waves on sand,
to the calls of geese
as they flew from land.
I danced on the sand
while the sea gulls flew.
Bright sun splashed feathers
so they sparkled blue.
The firm fast beat
of my black soled shoes
scared two small terns,
and away they flew.
I danced and I sang
as the day came in.
The sun was bright,
and the clouds were thin.
The grey tides turned,
and the warm noon wind
danced through my hair
when the day was in.
I danced at dusk
by the sea on sand.
I danced to the tune
of an ocean band.
I danced to the beat
of waves on sand,
to the calls of geese
as they flew to land.
