That Sad Day

by Donna Sanchez

It has been a few years since they tried to take our freedom,

those evil men with their twisted minds.

They snuck up on us like a thief in the night,

and took away people who were good, human and kind.

We will never forget that day in September,

when the devil invaded our lives,

but with the help of God and each other

the light of goodness will forever shine.
