Hawk Near a Flooded Side Road

by Sondra Ball

red tail hawk

floating in April rain

in a gray ocean of sky

drifting

south of Princeton

the wind

pointing

through arch of wing

a cold northeastern wind

keeping this hawk

air dancing

motionless

alone
