Child of Innocence

by Nimchira

Little child of innocence,

Hair the color of straw,

Eyes of corn flower blue,

What does life hold for you?

Sweet child of innocence,

So young and so free,

Too young for hopes and dreams,

For you are only three.

Play, baby, play, your face so full of glee,

Schemes and vice are not your game,

Your world is still a dream.

As you grow guard your dreams,

And when you reach, reach high,

For your dreams are beyond the sky.

Looking through the window,

Of another land,

Where all you see went before,

Drawn by hand, or drawn in your dreams.

Hold on to your thoughts and dreams,

Life will not always be what it seems,

Thoughts can stay mean all day,

Or run wild like an innocent child.
