Seasonal Serenity

by Julie Michael

Quiet, as gently falling snow softens the land.

Trees stand strong, elegant

wearing their snow proudly as if

whispering oh let me live 50 winters more of my woodland journey …

Coyote runs in the distance,

caution stopping him briefly to survey his woods … then onward.

Quiet, but for occasional music from the red bird's song.

Diamonds in rays of sun glistened snow.

Sapphire sky and emerald pines fill the billowing land.

Precious jewels of nature.

I lift my cap to the beauty!

God scatters it about o'er the wide earth and tells us all it is ours.

Quiet, but for the voice of splendor in a snowy woods.
