Bureaucrats

by John D. Berry

Who is in charge?

Can't be the whole bunch,

Bucks have to stop,

Somewhere.

Oh no, can't decide that now,

Have to have committees,

They're wiser than community,

Gotta be organized.

Organization requires rules,

Gotta have policies,

Templates, a Constitution,

Documents required, so cue up here.

But of course a committee,

Has to choose who runs,

Gotta have elections,

You need more than one candidate?

Dominant culture won't respect us,

With no paper tail like them,

Don't forget policies,

Gotta be organized,

Yeah, gotta get organized,

Yep, need rules of order,

And a second and then,

Maybe even a secret vote.

Sign here why don't yah.

You wanna speak your mind?

Huh. How about that.

You don't have the floor.

Ain't being a free people,

A great thing when finally,

You are organized.

Says so on these papers right here.
