He Leads Me On

by Sondra Ball

He leads me on paths I do not know.

My feet are stumbling and my steps are slow.

I falter and grow tired along the way.

My paths are muddy and my skies are grey.

Yet through these storms and through these long hot days,

I hold my faith that God still knows the way.

He leads me through hosts of unquiet years,

past broken dreams, past fears and doubts and tears,

guiding my steps inside the tangled maze

of loss and darkness, sorrow and thick haze.

Through everything, his hand still leads me on.

I walk in trust his will will yet be done.
