The Group

by Craig Schoonover

Formed by teenage philosophical, art,

shenanigan, rock fanatic junkies,

Kicking lose to get free of their

humdrum, programmed anxieties.

To smart assed to stay in company

with any one else,

living exotic star struck lives right

in the middle of the middle.

Glazing in the attention they bought with their

racing hysteria and loud remarks,

Knowing full well that the present

was fading into the past, and that soon

they would have to let the mania go

find their own ways

find their own wives

flounder in a system that could

not understand the joy each loved to demand from life.
