Haiku Set

by Mark Wilson

a lone red flower

pendulous punctuation

november noted

black chicory chaw

hickory hammocks by stills

locust litany

cactus spines don't sleep,

to sharply spark my pre-dawn

coyote-like yips

late light falls trusting

dust motes dance a mute Swan Lake

hum the strings section

limpid pool reflects

a rock, a tree, my visage

dare I toss pebbles?

swollen sea fields surge

coriollis spun, ghost plowed

blue-splintered cadance

gumshoe silhouettes

praying mantis fire escapes

above fedoras

peregrine diving

pinioned iron talons

feathered explosion
