Back Home We Go

by Rebecca S. Hammons

This vacation has been barrels of fun,

And as of now it is done.

For the trip back home we will go;

Where feelings were high, now they are low.

We must go back to our daily grind;

For a week we left it all behind.

On our faces was a big smile,

For to work we said Goodbye for awhile.

So down that long ride we go,

Wanting to take the drive back real slow.

Yet we get home all too fast;

No, a vacation time does not last.

The first day back to work, here it is;

Goodbye to the fun times I kiss.

For it is back to the boss and work I go;

Vacation times go fast, oh my, oh no.
