Absolution

by Regis Auffray

Soft soothing snowflakes swirl

Through the open portal of my soul

Melt

Assuage the flaming fires of my fevered mind

Bless me mother for I have sinned

I've prayed

Yes prayed with fire

Look at me

Naked I am

Not ashamed

Your endless insults are powerless

I absolve you

As I am

"Mea culpa"

Is no longer

Part of my consciousness
